We are growing, so we need a Planted Container Assistant to join us to our Outdoor Retail team.

What's the job?

We are looking for a Planted Container Assistant to join the Outdoor Retail team at Bents.

Your daily role will include;

· designing and creating fantastic container displays

· engaging with customers to understand their style and requirements in order to create containers that WOW and inspire!

· using your creative flair to visual merchandise the seasonal plant area to entice customers

What are we looking for?

Ideally you will have previous horticultural knowledge and a passion for plants. More importantly you must be enthusiastic and possess a friendly, approachable customer focused personality. This position would suit someone with a good knowledge of container planting and have a keen eye for detail and design. It is desirable that you'll have visual merchandising experience.

A few more important details....

This role is due to start ASAP. It is a permanent, flexible contract, this will include weekend and evening work. You will also be able to provide cover for holidays and busy periods.

Horticultural Section Leader

What's the job?

We are looking for a Section Leader to join our Outdoor Retail department to manage and lead our Hardy Plants department.

Reporting to the Head of Garden Retail, you'll be responsible in leading, coaching and developing the Hardy Plants team on a daily basis, inspiring them to achieve a culture of world class service.

You will work harmoniously and creatively as part of the Outdoor Retail Department, the Horticultural Section Leader will lead by example planning, organising and leading the daily Hardy Plants service activity and sales promotional events.

What are we looking for?

You'll have proven experience of managing a department and a team and it's essential that you'll have experience in the Horticultural industry.

The perfect candidate will show attention to detail, knowledge, professional competence, strong leadership skills and communication style to influence success.

A few more important details....

The role is full time (42.5 hours) working a 6:4 shift pattern....this means you'll have one set day off each week, then work 4 week days and then alternate weekend work and evening shifts. The salary is negotiable on experience.

· Ensuring all departmental seasonal activity is executed and supported through the department

· Coordinating with your team to ensure that product displays are maintained in excellent condition

· Checking all products are priced and in line with pricing lists

· Stock taking

What are we looking for?

You should have a keen interest and knowledge of the horticulture industry and are looking for an opportunity to work within a fast paced environment with an extensive range of products.

You will have a high degree of flair and creativity along with a passionate energy and enthusiasm to work in a tight team environment.

A few more important details....

The role is full time (40 hours) working a 6:4 shift pattern....this means you'll have one set day off each week, then work 4 week days and then alternate weekend work and evening shifts. The hourly rate of pay is between £4.50 and £7.50.

What are we looking for?

You will have experience of working in a sales capacity and be confident in advising customers on product ranges.

The role offers 20-25 hours per week, including working every weekend. The contract will start 1st February 2017.
