October Tips

	Flower Garden Now is a good time for a border overhaul. Improve soil with manure or soil conditioner.
	Shrubs & Trees Plant shrubs, trees & climbers to provide autumn & winter colour for years to come.
	The Water Garden October is a good time for planting waterside perennials.  Remove fallen leaves & debris from ponds.
	Lawn Care The last mowing of the lawn this month should just be a light 'tipping' of the grass blades. Repair any bumps or hollows now.
	Wildlife Encourage hedgehogs to overwinter in your garden by providing hibernation boxes in sheltered areas.
	The Fruit Garden Make plans for new fruit plantings.  Brush up & destroy dead leaves & rotten fruit.
	Landscaping This is an excellent time for constructing paths, patios & terraces. Always choose materials which compliment your home.
