The autumn months are a great time to buy outdoor Christmas decorations and even start putting them up, so there’s less to do in late November and early December.

We’re not saying you should put up your prelit snowmen figures and Father Christmas statues just yet, but you could start by hanging some outdoor LED battery lights around your trees and shrubs?  Doing this during November, as the darker nights draw in, will bring some extra brightness to the garden.

You’ll find a great selection of outdoor string lights in the Bents Christmas Shop, in all sorts of different colours, and with sparkling and twinkling effects.

Or, if you want to keep your outdoor lights up all year round, so you can light your garden after dark at any time, our Outdoor Lighting department has plenty more lanterns and string lights to choose from.

We believe garden lights are not just for the winter months, and we’re sure that the lights you put up outside in the run-up to Christmas this year will become bright and twinkling companions for many months to come.

Lighting outdoor Christmas trees

Lighting outdoor trees for Christmas is easy with outdoor battery LED lights.  These don’t need a mains power supply and often operate on a 24-hour timer so you don’t need to manually turn them on and off each day.

Solar lights are also worth a look, as they will automatically turn on at dusk, and remain on until morning or until their battery runs out – and will then charge back up in daylight.

If you want an illuminated outdoor Christmas tree that’s all ready to go, check out our selection of outdoor lit trees, which includes realistic prelit Christmas trees or choices such as birch and cherry blossom.

Or for something a little more contemporary, opt for a flat LED tree you can mount to an exterior wall of your house or garden, or a pyramid tree festooned with decorative string lights.

We have outdoor Christmas trees in all styles, sizes and colours, as well as LED garden lights you can use to decorate trees and shrubs you already have planted.

So, whatever your garden looked like in the spring and summer, you can give it a seasonal touch in the run-up to Christmas.

Decorative displays and festive figures

As we move into December, make sure you’re ready with any finishing touches. Some garden figures, such as acrylic reindeer, could possibly stay in place all year round, but others like Santa Claus statues and prelit snowmen figures are understandably more seasonal.

You’ll find plenty of outdoor lit acrylic decorations in the Bents Christmas Shop, available in-store, click-and-collect or for home delivery, giving you every opportunity to get well prepared in the run-up to Christmas this year.

We all deserve a bright Christmas and a sparkly New Year – and we look forward to seeing you down at your local garden centre this autumn and winter, or taking your orders for home delivery and click-and-collect as we all move towards the festive season.
